As far as I recall, "Show HN" posts have a different ranking algorithm (or, at least, a handicap) than regular link posts.

To provide context: this post was ranked very low for a while for some reason, and I was asking why that was.

But since it got pushed back up on the homepage since, I deleted my comment – without realizing that you had replied, sorry!
