Unpopular opinion: low-code always existed. Examples: stored procedures, Oracle/MSSQL, SharePoint, SAP, "Cloud"(in the dumb, use-these-20-services-to-make -your-app, not in the IaaS sense), Docker, etc

Not having to write messy business logic in whatever the hot programming language of the week is (which typically means many more lines of code than SQL and an order of magnitude slower).

I am just surprised you think writing out sql and the logic surrounding it as low-code. To me it is coding.
