Oh, Kaspersky couldn't be possibly surprised by existence of Dr. Web. The company is well established and has good market share in the former USSR. I remember using their products back in 1999 or so.
Yeah, Dr. Web is very well-known in Russia, and among the wider security community. They have some very talented people working for them, and, as far as I know, Dr. Web is still one of the only AVs that can disinfect the Rustock.C rootkit/virus successfully.
