Just reading it, I’m halfway through. I doubt anyone didn’t know they had microphones or cameras. Contrasting it with the word phone, it implies it has a microphone... but we still all carry around in our pocket without hesitation. Yelling “hey Siri” or “ok google” in a crowded place will probably yield as many or more beeps and blips as yelling “Alexa”.
