There is entire categories of products whose entire intent is to circumvent some other products limitation or rules.

Do tell, cause I run the "ChatGPT" program on Windows to use both the normal Chat and Codex (side menu items). I think its a more recent change.


This is from a recent update, and I'm on macOS. I had to re-download it, not just update from within the app.

This new version has tabs for ChatGPT and Codex. The ChatGPT tab seems way less powerful; Codex is basically a coding agent with a UI and browser built in.

Pretty sure this is the old Codex app with the ChatGPT tab bolted on. It's great in some ways, but needs work in others.

Remote monitoring doesn’t imply remote management- one is sensible, one is a power trip. We are required to monitor our refrigeration and we did it with a distributed system of wireless sensor that upload to a cloud service. It’s independent and there’s no risk of loss from it.

The current coincidence is used to select a specific bit / core. Except it selects the same bit in every bank.

Bytes or larger words are made by stacking multiple banks together (18 in the articles case) All 18 bits would be driven in parallel by the driver over the X/Y wires to produce a coherent 18 bit value at the same moment.

The inhibit bit was so you could select which of those 18 bits (in separate banks) would be switched back to a 1, not selecting which bit across the entire bank.

I pictured having a current driver on each plane, so the data bits coming in would be enable bits for the current drivers. Which obviously means 18xQty current drivers.

I think you're describing having one big current driver for the whole job, and then data bits drive the inhibits to counter them.

I guess I'm looking through too modern a lens - pumping 18*600mA into the write cycle, plus (up to 18)*600mA into the inhibit, sounds insane to me (hitting 20A for a write) - but I can see that multiplying the current drivers may have sounded nuts in the 50s.


There are different ways of implementing core memory. The "traditional" way uses the inhibit line. The module I examined uses a "2½D" approach, which is what you originally pictured: separate current drivers for each bit and no inhibit line.

Yes, same with openclaw etc. Some might have plugins to integrate with graph or vector databases besides only markdown files.

Technically yes, because Zelle is just the frontend, but banks can settle between themselves via ACH if they don't have another arrangement or a RTP (real time payment) setup.

To answer the original question, because Zelle is ran by a consortium of banks, they all trust each other enough to release funds immediately and settle up overnight if need be.


Zelle isn't the ACH or RTP though, is what I'm saying. Zelle is the real-time notifications and accounting, but the reason every bank needs to have bespoke support is because it's each bank's job to figure out how to do the actual funds transfers in the background after Zelle payments go through.


I'm lovin' RTP. I've used it a few times between IBKR and Chase and it works very well, even for some hefty sums.



New commenter here, and I understand your arguments you've made in this thread, but it's like asking what is the waste of a waterfall? The math you're doing would say add up how much energy could have been extracted and compare it to equivalent generation in coal or similar. The water, even spent on the locks, goes to the ocean anyways.


It's not like the waste of a waterfall: the potential energy loss across a waterfall ignores the loss of freshwater.

Suppose you drink water from a river and piss in the river so the water ends up in the ocean, later someone diverts this river upstream straight to the ocean, would you really not care that the water no longer passes through your body?

Does the knowledge that the water has returned to the ocean quench your thirst?
