That seems like a weird claim to me. What did you have then that you don't have now?

Is it because you're using an OS like Windows or Mac that are very closed and don't encourage hacking? There's an easy solution to that.

(Note that I'm not taking about things like the age verification laws, which haven't had a meaningful effect anywhere yet.)

We should be paying at least as much attention to the people who want to use AI to consolidate their wealth and power, and how they’re trying to do that. They’re a clear and present immediate danger to our societies, not something we can only speculate about. And if we deal with them, better control of AI will be a side effect.

Yeah, basically any human group has some shared social context. Most cults and fascists probably eat together sometimes too, but that doesn't make it a red flag.
