yeah that's a true point. But that also means that a human can't code it either. except the person comes from that time so the person has to be over 40 years old and can code or can prompt in the "right" way that the ai can reproduce this.
Tile Wipeout is a row-and-column rotation puzzle about matching colors and shapes.
You rotate rows and columns to move tiles through fixed gates. Matching a tile's color and shape to a gate removes the tile, while other tiles cause both the tile and gate to change shape.
Empty spaces passing through gates create new tiles.
Your goal is to leave as much of the grid empty as you can in the given number of moves. Note that removing every tile may not always be possible.
If AI is already good at this, then it will naturally lead programmers who may not be good in that respect in that direction anyway via the code that it generates.
In other words, being a human expert in writing high quality implementations is less important now.
I think for older programmers/CS academics, the second most surprising thing about the ChatGPT breakthrough in 2022 was that people cared about AI safety.
Who are people here? I don't think essentially anyone cares about AI safety in general society. Sure there are niche communities of tech and potentially political elites who have opinions but none of my non-tech friends could care less.
Then you probably want something that has replaceable parts and not an apple product (e.g. framework)?
Not trying to discourage you from building your thing, but just figure that's worth considering.
Also, I could see why developers would want excessive logging in their betas, so that's kind of a catch-22 (without the verbose logs it might be harder to fix bugs found in the beta)
I would consider such laptops not fit for purpose and wouldn't buy one in the first place. Of course, that doesn't help if that's the sort you have. Sorry.
If ease of repair is what you care about, then yes.
But in absolute terms, sockets do make things more likely to fail. A socketed design means you have an assembly step where something is put into that socket. Probably manually. Cables and sockets can be tugged at and twisted. Dirt and moisture can get in between. Suppliers can use the wrong metal in connectors. Some errors will be caught by QC, which means that you never see them, but they still affect the manufacturer's bottom line.

Regardless, if you're concerned about the logging of beta software prematurely wearing out your SSD, then don't use beta software. It's not ready for release anyway, by definition. It's there so you can help test it for the developers. Logging is an important part of that.
Last time I looked at Laptops that supported ECC it was a very short and very expensive list. At least I could get enterprise datacenter SSDs... once upon a time...
I know that I DONT want iLO/IPMI/Redfish on a laptop though, the out of band stuff eats up a ton of power.
